Fall Happenings

Howdy, I don't have a lot of time, but I wanted to add a couple pictures that document our recent fall activities. We took our semi-annual hike to the V above our home last weekend. We always go between sessions of conference. We had had a good storm so the path was not nearly as dusty and the air fresh and clean smelling. As we are getting older and stronger we made it to the top in record time AND without any crying. I also, (after Audrey's continual chiding) figured out my timer setup on my camera and took a picture of our whole family. We feel lucky to be able to go on a hike right outside our house. The picture with Capri is a pose that she assumed herself and begged to have her picture taken. The other picture is of her with her new hair cut. I'll have to take a picture of the back because it is pretty much all gone. I even took her in to a real salon to have it done. She is the first girl in our family to ever have a professional cut. It had gotten so bad with all her twisting and the hair that we've had to rip out to remove the knots. So I took her in and asked the girl to do a stack on the back. She was holding this one tiny strand of hair and looked at me like, "you've got to be kidding." She did her best, but Capri basically looks like a boy, but at least without the tail and noticable bald spots. She sat very still and serious and loves to pat her head and say "hair" and tell you about her cut.

This week, Tali also learned to ride her bike. She did a lot of crying during the learning process, but she couldn't be happier now. She says over and over, "Mom, I like my two-wheeler." She goes out multiple times a day for a spin around the cul-de-sac, and wants to go on lots of walks. Yesterday she even learned to ride it standing up. It is so fun to see that new found freedom and excitement. We are proud of her.

As you can see from the first picture, our mums are in full bloom. I love how they brighten a shady, cool, fall day. With the mums come lots and lots of bees. Capriel loves bees and has been fascinated watching them buzz around. In her excitement she began picking them up and would grab one between her two fingers and looking at me say, "Mom, bee." I kept telling her that they would bite her but she insisted on examining them up close and eventually got stung. Remember that Lani used to catch bees in ziploc bags, but no one has ever just picked them up. I do believe that Prilly has learned her leason and will give the bees a little more space from now on.

You got a great picture of your whole family. Sorry, I didn't remember bugging you about learning to do that. You should've told me to be quiet--I don't know how to do hardly anything with my even easier camera.
We miss you guys and wish you were here to see the baby. He's already put on a pound from one day to the next after the tongue clipping! yay!

Sabina your flowers are gorgeous and huge! I can't believe the size of those mums! There were a few that size at the nursery and I was totally in awe. I haven't purchased any mums yet, but after seeing yours I'm even more tempted. I love the family picture. Tom has been raving about Tali's video all day. He saw it before me, and rushed to get me so I could see it. We're proud of her! I miss Prilly. Tell everyone hi!

Way to go Talia on the bike! That video was so fun to watch. She looks so grown up. We also liked the family picture with ALL of you in it! We need to be better about doing that as well. Trevor is never really in any of our pictures because he is always taking them.
We miss you and can't wait to see you!

I would love to hear Broklyn play the piano. She makes my heart sing.
