my crazy life

it has been very cold over here. i went down to my garden to pick my tiny watermelon, before it froze. mom and dad told me it wasn't going to be ready and not to be disapointed. I went with mom and dad . it wouldn't be ready. it was tiny for pete's sake! but we didn't want to throw the watermelon away so we decided to hollow out the insides and carve it like a pumpkin. we kids all loved the idea!
so we sawed my tiny watermelon open . when it was open our eyeballs almost popped out of our head! the insides were bright red with tiny black seeds we were estatic with the watermelon but we still wanted to carve it. so we got a spoon and hollowed out the beautiful insides and carved it while carving there were many comments such as , can I taste it? ,it's beautiful , I am soooo surprised! we also enjoyed the tasty watermelon after dinner. later we proudly set our work of art out on the steps for all to see!

I am a very proud gardener.

I loved your account! I had a similar experience with my lone eggplant. Though I didn't carve it, just cut up the 1/2 serving and threw it in some soup- hey at least we got one, even if it was small! I would love to see a picture.

Wow, we are so impressed you grew an edible watermelon. What a creative idea to carve it as well. Fun!
