it all started shen we went to live with the petes in the summer of 1999 i was eight months, addy four .
this blogpost is to let her know how much i love and adore her . we didn't get along very well for a long time. she had her favorite toy's wich consisted of: a doll with yellow yarn hair named laura , a red toy shovel a beenie dog named princess, a cat named amber and a barbie named pochohountas. i decided that i deserved these toys just as much as she did and made it my buisness to make my rights known to the world, particulary addy . she was not about to give in but she tolerated me as she usualy did (and still does) she gently applied her parental discipline and told me in a threatening tone that she was going to yell at me and put me in a tree if i did not straighten out...... Imediantly! I did, other than some occasional "missunderstandings"
we got along graduly getting better and better until i got to the point where I adored addy i thought she was the most beautiful, smart, bravest person i knew, and I still do . to me she was the arm around my shoulder when the dogs got mean , the best tree climber , the only one brave enough to spank grandpa harrisons horse when it acted up , and the most loving person with a testimony of steel
some of my favorite memories with addy are climing the cherry trees with milk cartons around our waists fastened around with a woven leatherbelt 25 cnts per carton. we would spend the money on candy, the source? add's ballet classes.
there was always suckers in a big glass jar for 25cnts i would buy my sucker and sit in awe as I wached Robin, the teacher , lead the class in plie's and leaps around the wooden floor with the big mirriors sometimes they would let me actully sit in the corner of the dance floor instead of the big green benches , so i could see better. then after the class she would get dressed and buy her sucker then carefully stow it away in her red beaded purse (she always saves her candy ,i'm the eater.) then we would push with all our might to open the big glass door so that we could wait for grandma in the gravel parking lot .
another memory is never , ever being able to look under addy's bed . she always hid christmas presents under there she still does and I am still not alowed to peek under it . addy is one of the best examples you can find of genorosity. she plans months ahead to find the perfect gift for someone and everybody gets something terrific of christmas morning , or their birthday.
one thing i am forever grateful for is how protective addy is if she ever thout i was scared during a movie or of anything at all whe would drape her arm around me and tell me it was all o.k. i rember during a outing to her school playground to play a older boy started bossing me and pushing me . addy marched over and with the athority of the president of the united states informed him that she was a member of the church of jesus christ of latter day saints and he had better back off or whe would beat him up then she would turn her heel and march away, her arm around my shoulder once more
i love you addy and i am so grateful for our friendship . it's always there when things get tough . you are always there shen i need to call you and pour out my woes i love to hear your reasonable answers amonst my drama
thank you
love brecklyn
