Hmmm

3/8/2011

So the day started out well. We had a serious storm last night so Craig and I spent our workout time shoveling snow. It was a spring snow, heavy, deep, and coating. All the trees hung with the weight of the snow and everything sparkled. Landen and I enjoyed spotting broken limbs on our drive to soccer. It was really beautiful. The temperature quickly rose above freezing and I decided to take the girls out before lunch and build a snowman. Here is our creation-a dancing snowgirl for my little dancing girls. It was fun to make.

Later on things turned a little sour. I had been cleaning out the laundry room and had put a few things outside the door to take to the garage. I ended up not completely finishing and irresponsibly left some of the items at the bottom of the stairs. Rhyse in her quiet but very busy way discovered this bag of grout among the pile. She quietly enjoying the silky texture of the powdered grout, until caught by her siblings. I lifted her out of the dust and took her to the bath. She looked like a little black baby and still after scrubbing has a grey hue to her skin. I know over time she’ll return to her little white self. However, I’m not sure the carpet will fare as well. I shop vacuumed the carpet which only left it dark dark brown. I’m afraid to add water because it will turn to cement. I don’t know what to do. Notice the general mess of the room around Rhyse. I feel like I’m always living in about this level of disarray. It is tricky to find the balance between focussing on just cleaning all the time and doing things with the kids that seem more eternally significant. I sure wish I could find an app for mothering that is like my 100 pushup app. It just rings when its time to do them, tells me how many to do, and slowly works me towards my goal.

When you make that app you will make millions!!!

Sigh about the grout. You need someone who owns a Kirby. Those things can get anything out.
