Easter this year started with a scavenger hunt of Easter related clues that led to a basket filled with chicks! This has been a dream of ours (especially mine-to be honest) for quite some time. I'm excited for them to observe and participate in the responsibility of caring for chickens. The kids instantly bonded with a particular chick.
Capriel and Clara (from the nutcracker who already has a hurt leg)
Capriel really wants to sleep with one. She is a great help in caring for the chicks
Rhyse and Lisa (she immediately knew and wanted this name) We have certainly found Rhyse doing things like putting all the chicks in a butterfly net, and racing away to hide with one, but overall she has been very gentle.
The chicks have been super fun so far. I loved preparing the surprise (it wasn't 100% a surprise, but I tried). The little girls have spent lots of time watching and holding their little chicks and caring and worrying over them.
I love this shot. One of our favorite things about Pepper is how much she loves to be with us. She loves the kids and enjoys doing everything they do. She also loves to cuddle and makes the kids SOOOOO happy when she snuggles up next to them.
Breck's b-day outfit from Gma. Pete. Not her best pic, but it sure does show what a beautiful girl she is become!
Rhyse on Easter, She is our wild, almost always shoeless girl. She can play almost endlessly outside.
I love this shot because it shows one of Capriel's fun quirks at the time. She always, has to go to the bathroom. Here she is almost instantly and intensely in pain because of her urgency. These moments seem to hit her like a freight train completely out of the blue. I took the shot, sent her in with the instructions to come right back out so I could take a shot, but she was never seen again.
Our beautiful stylish 8-year old. Talia is such a conscientious, fun, energetic soul. She has been doing a lot of cooking with me lately and is getting really good.
As you may notice, Landen does not have a Sunday Easter picture. That is also indicative of his personality. He gets home, rips off his Sunday clothes as fast as possible and has no interest whatsoever in posing for a shot.
Capriel had her first soccer game. She was pretty apprehensive before the game started, but after the game started she jumped right in and played hard. She is as fast as they come, and not really frightened of the bigger kids. She kind of zipped in and out of focus, as excited about the treats after and playground as anything. She liked to keep score, and be apart of the team. I learned that coaching is a little more complicated than I thought. It was a little stressful, but I'll get the hang out of it. I really want to do a good job. Simply keeping track of the kids and pointing them in the right direction was quite the task. Talk about crazy!
