We were lucky to get a surprise visit from our dear friend Julianne recently. It was a wonderful reunion, filled with lots of hugs and catching up. Brecklyn remembers her well, and though the other kids not so much, they quickly felt her special warm spirit and were drawn to her. Julianne is one of those people who always makes you feel special, and talented, and important. She is genuine, and wise, and so very thoughtful. It was a quite refreshing to be with her.
Capriel finished her last dance class recently. Here are a couple of pictures of her doing the splits. I love few things more than watching her dance for me. She continues to be so agile, flexible, and vibrant.
Rhyse spends hours with our chicks and ducks. Usually, she will open up the cage and just hang with them, holding them, talking and singing to them, and just being one of the birds. She has a gentle demeanor and when she holds her chick (Lisa) she usually seems very calm. Capriel and Rhyse have ben daily helping me to transfer the birds from their way-too-small-tupperware home to a portable pen outside for the day. They have been such great workers caring for them and feeding and watering them. We have had many a "chick escape" whih I think is intentional, but provides for some moments of high excitment and drama, especially when the dog is around. Pepper, to her credit, has been quite remarkable and though she has had many many a chance to grab a chicken dinner, she has restrained herself.
