Summer is Here!

Capriel at the splash pad.  I adore this picture.  It shows Capriel's exuberance and love of life.

We've had a fun time hitting our local splash pad a couple of times.  Rhyse is proving to be super friendly and always finds a friend and quickly begins playing and constantly jabbering.  We got to have Keiton here for the week.  He was a fun friend and always good for a laugh.  His personality is so different from Brielle's.  He spent hours driving things around on the tennis court.

Landen gave his first talk today on Eternal Families.  He did a great job and didn't even seem too scared.  He spent a lot of time arranging the format and making sure he understood where and how long to sit and all those important details.  He shared a story about his first temple trip.

This week was also Rhyse's birthday.  She has been anticipating this birthday for around 9 months.  She began months and months ago planning every detail of the party, with lists of exciting treats and even more extensive lists of people she wanted to invite.  Sometimes, she would just invite random people when we were shopping.  When the big day finally came I was sure it was going to be a let down especially because I'd been gone the week before with girls camp and hadn't pulled together a very precise plan for her bday.  But she was as happy as could be with whatever we pulled together last minute in efforts to celebrate.

Here is her party= two good friends, two sisters, and two cousins-doesn't get better than that.  They had fun decorating waterbottle, decorating cookies, playing water balloon games, making super bubbles, painting with sidewalk chalk, and just being together for a party.

Chalk painting.  One of those things that could have qualified for a Pinterest bloopers. Much cuter on line than for real.  Luckily the girls didn't really notice.
Capriel has finally lost her first tooth.  Going all the way through kindergarten can seem like a really long time, so when this tooth finally loosened (with a little help from playing dog tug of war and having a blanket yanked out of your mouth by your "owner") she was incredibly focussed and intent on this tooth.  She eventually twisted it out and waited on the driveway for me to return home so I could see.  The tooth fairy must have had a difficult time getting to her that night since she was sleeping in the same bed as Talia, but she recruited a backup crew and things worked out!

Rhyse getting the awesome paper dolls that Talia and Brielle painstakingly made for her.   Talia got to stay at Getti's after Colemans blessing to help.  Getti spent hours with her teaching her to sew and make these dolls.  Talia made me my first Maxi skirt!  It fits awesome and is so cool and comfortable.

Here is Rhyse at Pizza Pie for her special lunch with her Dad!

Landen and Capriel picked some fresh roses for an early birthday bouquet.  Raspberries and sugar cereal for breakfast!

Here is Breck's b-day present to Rhyse.  A beautiful ballet cake.  Breck is very gifted and is also willing to take the time and effort to really celebrate!  The best sister ever!

Rhyse very carefully playing a waterballoon relay.  It was fun to see the (for the most part) actually understand the games.  They were thrilled after playing the structured games to simply be allowed to play with the water balloons.  All they wanted to do was throw them at me!  They were too timid to throw them at each other, but somehow they had no problem attacking me!  I don't think I will forget the musical water balloon game where they had to sit on the water balloon when the music stopped.  Every single one of them looked as if they had wet their pants!  It was really quite ridiculous and I still can't believe I thought that game was a good idea.

Talia and Rhyse and I enjoying a long time craving (7 layer bean dip) and enjoying Breck's first outdoor longcourse swim meet.  Breck tried some new swims, swam an awesome 100 breaststroke.

Landen has been disappearing for long periods of time lately.  Turns out he has been tunneling out a little room in the back flowerbed.  The first picture shows him sitting inside his cavern.

Capriel told me this week that she plans on going on a mission.  It was in a quiet moment and she told me as we were walking in a way that I knew she really meant it and had really thought about it.
